Looking for information about requesting Official Daytona State College Transcripts?
What credit will I get for classes I took at another school?
If you have attended a college or university since graduation from high school, you are considered a Transfer Student.
Things you need to know:
- Request final, official copies of your transcripts from each college you've previously attended. These must be forwarded directly from the issuing institution to the Daytona State College Admissions Office before your first term of enrollment. It is suggested that you complete this process at least six (6) weeks before the first term in which you plan to enroll to avoid registration and financial aid related holds and to ensure that all documentation has been processed prior to your attempts to register.
- The Records Office will perform an evaluation of transfer credits and notify you by sending an email to your FalconNet email address of transfer credit results and Daytona State College course equivalencies.
- Please allow up to 3 weeks for your evaluation to be completed.
You can then view the results on FalconNet Online Student Servicesonce the results have been posted. Go to Registration and Records (on the left menu bar) and click on Transfer Evaluation.
You should print the Transfer Course Summary and take it to an advisor or counselor to assist with advisement and program planning.
What if I disagree with how a course was evaluated?
If you feel that a course has not been evaluated correctly, you may challenge the evaluation of the course by providing a course syllabus or more in-depth course materials to the appropriate department chairperson for their review and recommendation. The department chairperson will determine if the course is applicable to the program/degree and advise the Records Department in writing regarding the course credit. All lower level transfer credit is evaluated and posted to your Daytona State College record and included in your cumulative grade point average (GPA).
